I've noticed the surge in classice titles on the DVD shelves over the years. It seems that in the last four months there has been a huge push on classics, and I hope this trend continues. There are a vast amount of amazing films still unreleased that I hope get to see the light of day on DVD. In particular I'm anxious the get the Warner Brothers Gangter Film Collection! What are some of the classics you'd like to see in the near future released on dvd?

I'm glad "Bringing Up Baby" is finally coming out. Still waiting for:

The African Queen
Bad Day at Black Rock
King Kong
The Magnificent Ambersons

King Kong is supposed to be released next year. Warner is apparently doing a restoration on it like they did with Citizen Kane. I believe the Magnificent Amberson's is either released finally, or scheduled for release soon.

But why wouldn't The African Queen be out yet, an Oscar winner film. Incredible.

I'd love all the Bogart films to come out. The release of Treasure of Sierra Madre was beautiful, as was Casablanca two disk release. They're part of a very short list of dvd releases that actually have extras I enjoy rewatching from time to time.

I'm really excited about all the boxsets Warner will be putting out. The Controversial Classics featuring "Bad Day at Black Rock" among others.

The James Dean set featuring a new 2-disc version of "Rebel Without a Cause." The new Steve McQueen set with a 2-disc "Bullitt" and "The Cincinnati Kid" finally on DVD.

And "Point Blank" finally coming out as well. I'll be poor...but happy.

I have inside information that Welles's Director's Cut of "The Magnificent Ambersens" is coming out at the end of the week.

John,

You're a bad, bad man. You do realize that you could've given someone a heart attack? LOL.

Well, I don't actually have the disc in my hands yet, but I'll let you know when I do.
