Hello this is my first post, well I was just watching 3:10 to yuma and noticed my surround back speakers were not working, just my front and side speakers. I have an onkyo 705 and panasonic bd-30, it shows that I am watching in 7.1 on the receiver but I get no sound out my back speakers. Has anyone had this problem. Thanks

broaman,

I don't have "3:10 to Yuma" but I assume you're referring to the new version on Blu-ray and not the old 1950s' Western.

It appears that quite a few people have had various audio problems with the Blu-ray of the newer film, as these messages at the AVS Forums indicate: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/gtsearch.php?cx=partner-pub-7727267082087455:ntr50g-icin&cof=FORID:10&ie=ISO-8859-1&q="3:10+to+Yuma"&sa=Search

I'm not sure that any of the messages refer to the back speakers not working, though. Did you double-check your Onkyo 705's surround sound using the built-in audio tests? Did you put another Blu-ray disc in the player and check to be sure it was outputting rear-channel information properly? Do you have the latest firmware upgrades for the player? Are any of your speaker wires loose or disconnected?

Heck, maybe the disc just has no rear-channel sound .

Anyway, did you put your ear right up to a rear speaker to listen for any noise coming out of it at all?

John,
Thank you for the link, someone had posted about switching to another input and then back and now it works. I have no clue but now 7.1 audio works. Thanks

It might have been internal problem with the switching in your receiver. Let's hope it doesn't happen again.
