I picked up 'The Wrestler' on Blu-ray today, and found it to be missing the 'Within the Ring' behind the scenes feature. It does have the other two 'Wrestler Round Table' and 'The Wrestler Music Video' features. This is the Canadian release from Alliance so I'm wondering if it appears on the american version or if it was axed from the release entirely.

EDIT:
No digital copy either.

I have not opened a copy of it but according to the cover art (the actual disc in the store) the US version features both the documentary and the digital copy.

Our Blu-ray review also seems to confirm this.

Most of Alliance's releases are the actual studio discs with an Alliance sticker on the package, which are fine. But when ever they do their own DVDs or Blu-rays it seems the encoding quality is atrocious, and they are almost always 480i or 1080i.

At least in the case of 'The Wrestler' they seem to have recycled the encode from the american release so at least the image quality is decent, but they have left off the single most important bonus feature! (for no apparent reason)

I watched this last night. I flipped through the special features while watching the credits and I think there were 3 things listed. That was on the netflix copy I got. I liked this better than Slumdog btw

You guys should check out "Beyond The Mat". It's a great wrestling documentary, You'll find lots of "The Wrestler" in there.

At first, this behind-the-scenes documentary about professional wrestling seems as if it will be an unabashed fan's whitewash of the increasingly bizarre and popular world of "sports entertainment," as it is known. But director Barry Blaustein (a Saturday Night Live veteran who has cowritten many of Eddie Murphy's films) goes much deeper than you'd expect in a film that is at once entertaining and disturbing. By focusing on a trio of wrestlers who give him surprising access, Blaustein uncovers human stories that can be wrenching in their stark honesty. That's particularly true of one-time superstar Jake "the Snake" Roberts, whose career has fallen on hard times because of a crack habit Roberts brings Blaustein along for his first encounter in several years with his grown, estranged daughter. Blaustein also goes into the lives of Terry Funk and Mick "Mankind" Foley in ways that are both revealing and, at times, upsetting. More than just a fan's appreciation, this is that rare documentary that shows you sides of a familiar subject you never knew existed. --Marshall Fine

Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
