This is a mixed bag. After you figure out the costs of the program ($5/title with an additional shipping/handling charge), it may be cheaper to buy Blu-ray replacements from third-party vendors at Amazon.com. There are some deals, though, if you are replacing expensive TV seasons or box sets. Also, I wonder how exchanging "Casablanca" works out--will Warner send the big Blu-ray box set or just the disc in a standard Blu-ray case?

Not a bad deal. I've got 8 WB HD-DVD's... 6 0f which I would exchange. It turns out to about 37 bucks for the 6. Not bad.

Yes, comes down to how many you will be changing.

Q: After I complete the online order, what's next?
A: You send your HD-DVD cover art sleeves to our processing center. We will match your cover art to your order, and then ship your new Blu-ray discs. For some box sets, special instructions will be listed on the page where you select your HD-DVDs.

Does this make sense? The way I'm reading it... is that you keep your HD-DVD's... lose the sleeves, and just replace the Sleeves with the Blu-Ray sleeves and discs.

Henning... is there any way we can get this clarified?

EDIT: I sent them an E-mail myself. I'll post the responce when I get it.

yeah, you keep the actual HD DVD discs, which is great because several Blu-rays still don't have as many special features as their HD DVD counterparts (for example, the IME PIP tracks for "Blood Diamond", "Harry Potter 4", "Harry Potter 5", "300", "Troy", etc.).

Yes, this should be the case. I'm double checking with Warner. I'll post the response if I get it before you.

If that's the case I'll just stick with my HD-DVD's. I want my Blu-Rays to look... like Blu-Rays. And I probably won't get the HD-DVD covers back so... that's kid of a waste.

I guess, if anything, I can just buy a bunch of these.

It will cost you $11.90 ($6.95 s&h) per movie.

Now all you have to do is send them the cover art of the HD DVD and thats it? Not the entire movie?

Yes, no discs needs to be send.

Terms:
(send only the sleeve(s), no discs)

However, the $6.95 is only per order. So, you can order 10 discs and only pay:
(10 * $4.95) + $6.95
