For a good chunk fo my HD DVD collection, I only paid $5. So realisitcally this would be kind of a waste. But Photo paper and my new photo lazer printer can make new sleeves in those cases, and send the old sleeves to get the Blu versions. Then you could sell the Blu's on E-bay and make your shipping $ back, plus your orig investment in the HD DVD's to begin with. Free Movies!

Oh, I doesn't help me. I'm in Canada now. Really I probably wouldn't have jumped on the offer anyways. I'm surprised they didn't want the disks back. They could have rebadged them with the CBHD logo...

Blu is here to stay in NA. I wonder if my HD DVD disk will play in a CBHD player.

I got really excited about this deal, until I grabbed my Warner collection and looked up the specs of each blu-ray version. In some cases the audio quality on the blu-ray is lower than the hd-dvd. Ex. Happy Feet HD-DVD has TrueHD and Blu-ray has Dolby Digital 5.1. I'm holding on to my money and my hd-dvd's. My A35 is going strong too. Besides, aren't these just the HD-DVD encodes on Blu-ray disc?

I have five titles, which comes to $36.65, or $6.10 per title. I don't really know...

2001: A Space Odyssey: Special Edition
Blood Diamond
The Departed
Galapagos (BBC)
Pan's Labyrinth
Relentless Enemies

EDIT: Added The Departed...and the only other WB title I have is Swordfish, which is not on the list...it is there, but won't care to upgrade...

It might be worth it if it was another studio but the Warner discs usually aren't a "upgrade" and in the case of 300 the HD-DVD is superior. I don't have OCD about red and blu cases on my shelf so I don't care.

The whole case thing doesn't really matter.

For the ones of you who have the HD DVD DVD Combo, would you trade it in?

MV we still get to keep the disc, so yes I am going to trade in my WB titles.

Look, eventually, HD DVD will be no more. The HD DVD players will go KABOOM, and I want to have those are WB copies on Blu Ray.

as far as can be seen, warner will send "complete" copies of the blu-rays (discs, cases, and cover art). this is a good idea to get replacements for the inevitable day that your hd dvd players die.

yes, some blu-rays are inferior to their hd dvd counterparts, but it's unlikely that warner will end up re-releasing every title in the near term along the lines of "superman returns" (audio upgrade).
