Will the Star Trek "Fan-Film" productions, ONLY on the Internet for now, get on DVD?

Hi

I feel that I'm THE ONLY person in Philadelphia, PA that knows about these various "Fan-Film" productions [ :-( ].

YES, the acting is NOT high quality (downright-annoying-sometimes)/NOT REGULAR Hollywood-type acting, but the story lines are riveting and SOMETIMES exciting, though I do NOT entirely agree with some of the moral aspects of the plots.

STILL (!) I love the continuation of the Star Trek line, EXCLUSIVELY on the Internet, via ST Hidden Frontiers, ST: The Helena Chronicles, ST: Intrepid (made in Scotland... {Romuluns and Vulcans with British-type accents-go figure...:-O}) ...AND especially ST: Odyssey (Star Treks first Gay/Bi captain...etc., etc.).

Though the mainlines studios emphatically stated that these, Fan-Film productions, should NOT be profitable, I STILL feel that they should get some recognition (James Cawley, portraying James T. Kirk in the Star Trek, Phase II Productions, makes an appears in the new Star Trek movie he so... impressed J.J. Abrahams....)

While I totally disagree with your comment about riveting story lines, and think every single one of these fan series are unwatchable garbage, I will point out that they use various ways to get around the 'for profit' thing. New Voyages provides downloadable DVD images with high-res cover art that you can burn/print and Of Gods And Men offers a free DVD of their Star Trek "movie" when you buy one of their other "movies".

I love it when people say that. The truth is it's just a polite way of saying no acting ability what so ever.

Where are the Star Trek flicks located? I would like to check em out. I've watched many Star Wars fan films and although pathetic compared to the Lucas versions they are still somewhat entertaining time wasters.

Lol, nevermind, they are quite easy to find thru google.

"jzdnzr" here AGAIN!!!!!,

I am, at times, an UNASHAMEDLY a Star Trek fan from the very-Very, VERY (!!!) beginning back in the'60s BEFORE there was videotape, VHS, Beta, DVD, etc., etc.

....AND I have to admit that though "quality" of sources has to be challenged and questions, I "STILL" would like to see variety and differences things INCLUDING my absolute favorite thing in/ON the whole planet.

Yes, quality may-be questioned about things, ...i.e. these Fan-Films, BUT (!!!) I saw some of their influence in the Star Trek film, and regardless of the criticism(S) I enjoy them and see other fan-type influences after all, it was the fans who saved the original Star Trek back in the '60s, encouraged the movies being made, INFLUENCED the Next Generation series and the others that followed, ...AND more likely encouraged the reviving of ANOTHER television series....(?)

I have to run somewhere else for now.

Later?

Terry,

Nothing wrong with your enjoying them. They are made just for fun, not to be Academy Award winners.

THAT (!!!) is what it's all about.

ENJOYMENT & FUN!!!!!!!!!!!

It's NOT about the quality of the acting ...OR anything else.

I am an UNASHAMEDLY a Star Trek fan from the very-Very-VERY beginning.
It's one of the few things I RARELY gets tired-of (Casablanca {MOST Humphrey Bogart films}, James Bond films, the movie Fantastic Planet, The Day the Earth stood Still, The. 1941 [Tyrone Power< Basil Rathebone {THE greatest fencer in Hollywood history}] & Linda Darnell, Mark of Zorro).

I just saw a television, very-VERY edited, version of the absolutely first Star trek film with Jeffrey Hunter this was later edited as The Cage episode of the regular series. BUT (!!!) this RE-edited version included out-takes NOT seen in the regular showings. I immediately recognized the different scenes. That shows you how I pay literally fanatical attention to this show.

I sincerely hope that the rumor of a revived television series is/ARE true. I literally have orgasms thinking that ANOTHER Star Trek series could be in the works. Let's hope.
