According to them, the new "T2" transfer has been filtered too much, resulting in an extreme loss of facial detail especially. I dunno.

View profile »Cause they did scan the film in HD again back when the extreme edition came out. It would only sound ridiculous for them to go back at a lab, re-transfer the whole thing in 2k and re-do all the restoration work for a "new release". What they probably did was take that initial 2k transfer used for the first release and re-encoded it to utilize more space available on the disc. Throw in a couple of filters to make it look different so people won't feel tricked and there you have it!

It wont look and sound as good as the HD DVD import version !
