Stereoscopic 3-D is awesome! To play 3-D games on an xbox would be a Joygasm, lol. I can't wait. Although the economy will probably collapse first.

200 million units a year! I am one of them. I bought a Samsung 52-inch LCD barely 3 months ago. It was a sizable expense. I cannot imagine trashing it in 2-3 years time. Nor do I want to miss out on 3D. The model I have is a 100Hz one. I pray and hope it will be compatible. Hope those setting the standards for 3D are thinking about consumers like me.

Can you imagine 2 years from now, equipment worth billions of dollars could be made obsolete? It will cause an uproar.

Are DVD players currently "obsolete"? Are manual-transmission automobiles obsolete? Are mixing spoons obsolete?

In any case, the odds of any worldwide adoption of 3-D technology that requires a new television and a new player within the next ten years are probably about zero.

hmm i do have a 3d ready tv all i need is the glasses and transmitter. The downside is I need to use my pc to transmit the graph for 3d since no stand a lone player does it unless ps3 gets an update lol
