Yes, great to hear you're enjoying the new receiver. I'll bet if you look through your current BD and HD-DVD collection, you'll find a ton of great-sounding discs you hadn't even realized sounded so good until now. So, the new receiver will make your old collection sound even better, and you'll have fun exploring!
I can also understand your desire to turn on the dynamic-level control to kill some of the louder audio outbursts, but personally I wouldn't even consider doing such a thing. If my wife is asleep, I just don't play a movie I really want to enjoy. OK, I'm a nut-case purist about sound, I admit. I want that last ounce of dynamic range and impact. It's a reason I also refuse to listen to any kind of music through headphones or ear-buds. But it's just me.
