HD means nothing to me without the appropriate surround sound. So... any news MS has to say on that?

Looks to be standard Dolby Digital 5.1.

For me downloads can't replace movies I really want to own but for a rental... a possibility.

again 1080P is misleading, they don't mention that it will most likely be compressed to hell in order to not take 2 years to stream to your Xbox. However it's a step in the right direction.

This isn't streaming. It's direct download.

They say it will be instant-on movie watching in 1080p. So it has to be streaming of some sort.

The XBOX is becoming quite the powerhouse with options. I say keep it coming(this all sounds great). I recently downloaded a little program someone mentioned on here before(PLAYON). It freaking rocks as you can watch all kinds of programs from HULU and other sites thru it on the XBOX. It worked much better than expected. Now I can catch up on all my "Office" and "Fringe" episodes, WOOT!

Yes, they have the cool games, video options, best online service and much more. I really love my XBOX but it is beyond me why they don't do a better job hardware vise. They have great warranty so the red ring of death issue doesn't bother me as much but the fact it has a noisy drive and fan is really annoying. It is time for Microsoft to consider a new edition of the XBOX. With a more slim design, big hard drive, low noise and a more living room friendly look.

The slim 360 is supposedly in the works. I was hoping they would mention it at E3. If they didn't, possibly that is next year. Seems this system will go for a longer duration than the typical 5 year span. Sony is shooting for a long span too from what I've read(but don't they always milk it for everything it's got, lol).

Hmmmm, streaming 1080P. I wonder what the video quality will be like. I can deal with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio as long as the video is actually better than upconverted DVD.

That make sme wonder what the requirements for you High Speed service are. Right now at work we are fooling around with and HD stream at 4.5 Mbs. Standard HD flows at 6Mbs.
