I ordered Valkyrie on blu-ray from amazon last night after renting it last week. Really great film and there is just no comparison between blu-ray and regular dvds. Anyone have any good suggestions for other great WWII films?

Band of Brothers

Battle of Britian

Battle of the Bulge

Downfall (import from UK - will play in US players) Possible the best world war II movie in a long time.

I saw Flags of Our Fathers and it was really good...waiting to have a chance for Letters from Iwo Jima after I finish watching the Star Trek blu-ray movies from Netflix...

Band of Brothers on bluray is awesome, in fact I think I'm going to start watching the whole 10 part series again this weekend.

Letters From Iwo Jima is a very good movie so you should enjoy it a lot, especially after watching Flags of our Fathers. Now you see the same battle but from the other side. I love how those 2 movies are filmed.

In Valkyrie, the air raid scene in which Tom and family experience a near miss while in their basement will make your heart pound if you have a good sound system. The bomb burst audio literally blew me out of my seat. Also, Band of Brothers is addictive. A great series indeed.

It's not a WWII pic in the least, but extremely well done and extremely gritty none the less...

Mel "I'm a loon" Gibson's Vietnam War pic, "When We Were Soldiers"

The scene of the evac of the burn victim made me leave the room out of sympathy.
