After owning this title on laser disc i have never been impressed totally with the sound produced on dvd. I have avoided purchasing the first blue ray release, but wow, now its back. Its been a long 8 years.
Enjoy!!!!!!

Did you purchase it or watch it somehow? I'd love to know how good the picture and sound are from someone that has seen it.

Ok, is there some problem with the Blu-ray they did release that you can buy at Walmart for $10? I always hear complaints about it, but ever since I bought it, I can honestly tell you I've seen much worse quality on Blu-ray. T2 on Blu looked about as good as your most average Blu-ray disc and it's still a great improvement over SD.

So, can someone hear tell me what the issue is or what I should be looking for on the current Blu of T2?

I wouldn't know Tim because I have never seen it. I keep reading that it doesn't look that great and another complaint is that it does not have any HD audio (DTS HD, Dolby TrueHD).

The newer version has DTS HD audio and I believe better video?

my guess is that it probably looks like the first sd edition compared to the later remastered sd editions only this time it's happening in bd. (does that make any sense whatsoever?)

think "double, triple, quadrupile dip".

this is a title that deserves a full on RESTORATION, and a completely new updated soundtrack.

to tim

i can't speak for anyone else, but i personally didn't buy the first t2 release on blu because it only included the theatrical version. the new skynet edition includes both the theatrical and director's cut of the film, as well and tons more special features than the original release. it also only cost me $15 bucks at frys which, after selling my ultimate edition at suncoast was a pretty good deal.

Well, I can't say I'm disappointed with the Blu version I have. As I said, it's about as average as most Blu-rays I own, which really isn't anything to complain about. Plus, I've seen the damn movie far too many times to be concerned if I have the "better" Blu version of it. Sorry, but I have double dipped enough into this film and I'm not about to triple dip -- it's just not going happening for me.

I cannot imagine this version being any better than the Steelcase HD DVD version. Although, if you don't own the German Steelcase(cost me $60), then the new Blu Ray for $20 is a steal and very worth it.

The Skynet edition is really good...what I've been reading is that the Japanese edition has a higher bitrate, so it will look a little better. But honestly, it looks really good. Worth the purchase.
