Now they are down to $221.02 on Amazon and you can find it at Walmart($278) and Sams Club($227.87 includes HDMI cable). I have this player and love it. Thinking about getting one for my parents now that it has had price drops.

these prices are still to high for this economy for a product that nobody really believes in besides us. i would think that when faced between blu-ray and a wii, the family unit would get the wii if they have the cash to spend on a product for entertainment. escapism breeds happiness, and in these times i just don't think blu-ray feeds that. the sd's in the rental market will fullfill the movie needs for the majority.

it is a great player though.

You guys are probably right. The price is still too high. What I hate is that when a player starts getting real low in price they replace it with the "new and improved model" to raise the price again.

I got the BD35 wwhich is basically the same as the BD60 and I love it. Noticeable improvement in video and audio over the PS3.

If you wait and keep searching you can get a Panny used for cheaper.
