Sounds like it's not much better than the first.

Micheal Bay does have a tendency to try and outdo anything he's EVER done with each new movie, especially so with the sequels (Bad Boys II anyone?!). That aside the early reviewers almost all agree that a good twenty minutes could have been cut and no one would have felt cheated. I am definitely anticipating a but of 'battle fatigue' in the theater.

What were you guys expecting? Subtlety or character development?
It's:
A) A hollywood Blockbuster Sequel.
B) It's directed by Michael Bay.

Which means the following rules apply:
Bigger
Longer
More debris and helicopters.

Well, at least Michael Bay won't be getting any of my money on this one.

Wasn't expecting anything of the kind Coaster, just making an observation on the running time. No one does the 'epic' summer action flicks like Bay, and I love him for it. I could care less whether Shia LaBeouf grows as a charracter, and I certainly won't be concerned with whatever comes out of Megan Fox's mouth, but given that the exposition is already there, 147 minutes is a little on the extreme side. It worked for "The Dark Knight" and "Terminator 2," but you need the focus on character and story, which is not where Bay is strongest. He has consistantly made films that, while having fun characters and incredible action scenes that we enjoy watching, could have been trimmed down but a quarter of an hour without anyone noticing. I think reviewers as a whole are finally beginning to take it as a bigger negative than in the past. Nevertheless, they mostly all agree (and so do I) that in terms of bang for your buck, Micheal Bay delivers every time.

I'm actually thinking that I will be more invested in the robots than the actors...

If it's like the first one, I'll love it...

Remember that the first one was also longer than needed, but in the end, like mentioned, we get more for our buck with Bay and his summer blockbusters...
