The Academy has announced that it will now nominated 10 movies for Best Picture next year.

Exactly. For Best Picture, not Best Director. He still has no chance. :p

"Transformers 2" doesn't even stand a chance to make into Oscars new top 10 Best Picture Award. The word is already in and the word is the story sucks. Nevertheless, I'm sure it will be #1 over the weekend, and that's really sad considering this film is taking a beating in the review world. Well, sad . . . at least for people that can tell the difference between a well made film and an over-hyped CGI extravaganza festival.

Now now. The financial success of Transformers 2 will pave help to fund an array of Hasbro-related cinema in the ensuing years. Ridley Scott is in talks to direct "Monopoly: The Movie." With any luck, brother Tony Scott will be available to direct "My Little Pony in 3-D," and maybe they can talk Martin Scorsese into finally completing his decades-long project "Nerf."

Haha, nice. I'm still waiting for the live action Voltron movie on and Thundercats!!

Also, if they could make a proper live action version of the Macross saga I would be over the moon with joy.

In Megan Fox's own words about Transformers 2...

Quote:
It's not trying to be the greatest movie on earth. It's going to be the best action movie of the summer. Hands down, it will win that. But it's not trying to be a Golden Globe-nominated film. It's a badass popcorn summer movie.

Are we still arguing about this? In the end, if a movie fails to entertain, it fails as a movie. There's nothing worse than having to look at your watch/cell to find out how much of the movie is left before you can actually leave the theatre...

I just don't keep getting the hate that you have against Bay he makes popcorn movies that are entertaining, full of explosions, chases, women...why is that wrong? Why do all 'artsy' movies have to be liked by everybody? Is just because his movie made hundreds of millions compared to the 'artsy' 'meaningful' movies that made way much less?

Again, first, this is a movie based on TOYS, what were you expecting? Lawrence of Arabia? The Godfather? Gone With The Wind? Heck, Ben-Hur? It's robots from outer space! You are just getting mad at the wrong people.

I'm going to assume you haven't read anything else on the thread.
