Falcon, that's what I hope, that the studios get greedy and decide to release previous concerts and what not, at least in DVD...but blu-ray would be even better.

I bought the Ultimate Collection and it has the Bucharest concert...WOW...when he sings Billie Jean and he does the moonwalk for the first time...it's a performance orgasm!

He had the energy, the charisma...he could do it.

Is that Ultimate Collection available on DVD right now?

I'm going to search for it...

Ok found it. I wonder if they're sold out at the music stores. I'll check over the weekend.

CNN is reporting that all his albums are flying off the shelves in japan, where he had a huge fan-base, albums are picking up in the UK and in the states as well.

What will happen here is a frenzy over everything MJ. He was an amazing artist. I am only 25 years old. I got to listen to MJ for the first time from my dad's LP's and grew to like him very much.

It is very interesting how the web2.0 thing catched up to this. This is the second time in 1 week's time that a major event was reported in the online media first. The iranian situation was the first one, MJ's death the second. There is no doubt that nothing can beat the immediacy of the internet, and although through the iranian situation the networks learned that, you could still see TMZ.com reporting that MJ was dead, while cnn, sky news and the bbc were still speculating if the cardiac arrest was fatal or not with comments from cardiologists and other doctors on their panel.

Due to this MJ frenzy that is going on right now around the world, people that never heard or really didn't pay attention to MJ are looking for his vids on youtube, they're downloading his music and try to learn more about this man who everything and everyone is talking about. This is incredible, a person so radiant and extraordinarily talented, is being discovered yet by another generation through his death in the newest form of media.

M-j RIP.
May your talent and radiance outweigh your flaws and mistakes on everyone's memory.

I don't care of the man was a baby dangler or not. The man single handedly defined a generation, as well as many generations to come. It didn't really sink in until I was listening to Billie Jean earlier tonight. This man was and is still a legend. Sure, may may have done a few unsavory things, and had been accused of doing some unsavory things but that shouldn't matter. He brought happiness to many with his music. He inspired many musicians to reach for the stars just like he did. We will never see another King of Pop. Just like we will never have a King of Rock like Elvis. We will never ever see another man like this ever again. At least not for a very long while.

yo yo timmy tim buck two. regarding the beatles catalog..yeah, that was up for grabs. if sir pauly really wanted it then he should have outbid mj..plain and simple. yes they were pals and all however they were clearly on a different plane than you and I playing quarters for a round or two. regardless, jackson respected those songs and really didn't do any harm to the legacy of the beatles. I believe he may have poached one song out of the entire catalog for a nike commercial. so what..nike is iconic in iits own right and was deserving of a little revolution. paul was still able to sing beatle classics live after the fact and mj sang some of those tunes as well. paul should be flattered that such an icon that could blow him off the stage took such interest in his music. (i am speaking of paul here..solo..not the beatles )) anyway..I would think that you would be more pissed over "across the universe" or that lame vegas act...

I sit typing this as I watch the Bucharest concert...

MJ like Mike said, defined a generation. He had talent and he rose to fame and became the second biggest artist/icon of all time. Yes, his music wasn't as good after the left Jones, but what does that mean? Didn't the Beatles' songs were composed by at least two? Didn't the whole group collaborate in creating the songs?

He is the last icon that most of the world will mourn...I've decided not to watch anything else online about him, no videos, no stories, no nothing. What for? Why waste my time? He is gone...I'm just waiting for his concerts/videos re-released on blu...Sony will not pass the chance, I can assure you that...

EDIT: What do you think of this Japan concert sold by Amazon? Also, according to Wikipedia, all his concerts were recorded...so we'll see in the next couple of years...

Tim said that Michael did Paul wrong when in all actuallity all Michael did was out bid Paul . Where is the wrong in that? His money was longer.

Gee . . . let me think, BECAUSE THEY WERE FRIENDS!!! The rights to the Beatles catalog rightfully should have been Paul's in the first place . . . I mean, he was responsible for most of the catalog. I know I sure as hell don't cheat people that I know to call my friend!

And Blades, if you own the Beatles catalog you don't have to do Jack Sh*t but sit on it and watch the money pile up. The Beatles still out sell The Rolling Stones every year in record sales.

Here's what Wikipedia says about Jackson's successful acquisition of parts of the Beatles catalog (Note: Paul still owns many of his songs, including the famous "Yesterday") --

Quote:
MICHAEL JACKSON
While working with Paul McCartney on the two hit singles "The Girl Is Mine" and "Say Say Say", the pair became friendly, occasionally visiting one another. In one discussion, McCartney told Jackson about the millions of dollars he had made from music catalogs he was earning approximately $40 million a year from other people's songs. Jackson then began a business career buying, selling and distributing publishing rights to music from numerous artists. Shortly afterwards, ATV Songs—a music catalogue holding thousands of songs, including most of the songs written by Lennon-McCartney between 1963-1973—was put up for sale.

Jackson took immediate interest in the catalog but was warned that he would face strong competition. Excited, he skipped around saying, "I don't care. I want those songs. Get me those songs Branca [his attorney]". Branca then contacted the attorney of McCartney, who clarified that his client was not interested in bidding "It's too pricey".

After Jackson had started negotiations, McCartney changed his mind and tried to persuade Yoko Ono to join him in a joint bid, she declined, so he pulled out. Jackson eventually beat the rest of the competition in negotiations that lasted 10 months, purchasing the catalog for $47.5 million. When McCartney found out he said, "I think it's dodgy to do things like that. To be someone's friend and then buy the rug they're standing on".

In my opinion, Paul is demonstrating he's a sore loser! Look at the evidence...

He himself makes a ton off owning the publishing rights to other songwriter's songs! He even brags about this to Michael.

Now why did the Beatles songs ever even come up for sale in the first place? Why had not McCartney ALREADY purchased the rights long before Michael Jackson came into adulthood (and was in position to buy them himself). I mean, Paul for years had the money to buy the catalog (it's rumoured his net worth is upwards of a billion dollars, by the way).

Then... on top of all this, he initially tells Jackson that he's NOT INTERESTED in even pursuing the acquisition of the catalog! Unbelievable! (and pulls out of the negotiations!)

...Then Paul changes his mind (at least he's got some common sense here ), but in the end allows himself to "lose" out on the bidding, even though he was and is worth much more than Michael Jackson ever was!

Like I said... typical sore loser... Paul = great talent musician, but LOUSY businessman when it came to this business "decision".

Another report (from theHDroom.com) --

Michael Jackson Gag Cut From BRUNO

Universal has issued a statement confirming the scene has been cut, "Out of respect for the Jackson family, the filmmakers have decided to remove a small scene involving La Toya Jackson."

In a bitter irony involving yesterday's death of Michael Jackson, Universal Pictures held the Hollywood premiere for Sasha Baron Cohen's new movie Bruno that during previous press screenings included a Michael Jackson gag.

According to Access Hollywood and countless other sources who either attended the screening or heard from someone in attendance second-hand, Universal cut the scene in the hours between Jackson's death and the screening out of respect for the family.

The scene in question is reported to involve Michael's older sister, La Toya, who is coaxed to a home for an interview with Bruno. During the interview Bruno incessantly hounds La Toya for Michael's phone number.

Though Universal has yet to confirm whether the scene will or will not be included in the final theatrical cut, a source did tell Access Hollywood that its removal is being considered. If the choice were mine I would leave it out of the theatrical version due to the close proximity to Michael's death, but include it on the DVD and Blu-ray Disc version either cut back in or as a deleted scene.
