I felt it was one of the better books in the series and it certainly fills in some of the loopholes that have carried on throughout the novels. I hope the movie turns out as well.

I am pumped as well. We just rewatched the previous 5 and if the trend holds this will be the best one, each was better than the one before.

I am going to see this tonight. I haven't read the books. And after sitting in some ones office at work they brought up how they watched Harry potter on the family channel over the week end and liked the parts of the new movie they showed. Well I told her I watched the same thing but avoid that part so I wouldn't know what happened in the movie (even though I have them all on HDDVD). Well then she thought it would be fun to tell me how it ended. That was yesterday and I am still so pissed off I feel like throwing something.

Here's a review with spoilers so don't read if you do not want to know the plot or what happens in the movie.

She gave it 5 out of 5 stars. Here's a small quote without spoiling anything...

Quote:
Betrayal, heartbreak, disillusionment: Our young wizard has entered the adult world.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opens minutes after midnight tonight in some markets across the country, and the hugely anticipated new movie in the franchise will not disappoint you.

This is a very different Harry Potter.

Gone are the massive action scenes and the endless fantasy detail, and in their place are darker, scarier events and complex emotion.

Despite humour and wonder throughout and some delightful bits about first love, a dread of the inevitable showdown with Voldemort now colours the world of Harry Potter.

Im not really sure if I agree with where this series is headed. It seems to be promoting royalty to small children albeit only if you drain some of your blood. "Here's a blade kid, now go become a prince." I hope Harry attaches a public service announcement to the end of it or something.

But magic is evil. And bloody majic is even worse! The Humane society for small defenseless furry lil animals may need to be called on this one. The thought of half blooded princes using magic against lil rabbits is just apalling.
