Exactly. Even though it has potential of being a good movie it never reaches height to be rated as an 8. But then it is Eddie's review :) that is just one person(don't give too much thoughts on some of his reviews:)). Plus Eddie might have really enjoyed the movie:). I doubt that since he is a big Spielberg fan.Read reviews from different sources and take an average. Thats should be a 5 or 6 at max.

I liked Open Water. I seriously think many people are put off just by its low budget look. For me, there is nothing scarier than being left floating in open seas with sharks circling around you and nibbling at your feet.

Ranjan,
You suggest that S_Coaster respect my review, but then you suggest that people should ignore some of my reviews. Plus, why would liking Spielberg preclude me from liking "Open Water"?
Really, what are you trying to say? :)
Eddie

Eddie,
I think he's saying that you're a big Spieberg lover and if Spielberg had done "Open Water" you might have given the movie a 9 or 10. :D
Tim :D

Eddie , I am not telling Mr s_coaster to respect your review. All I am saying that he should not complain as it is only one person's view. Amazing things have happened in your reviews - FF getting a 10, Passion of Christ 6 and then LOTR:ROTK a 7, TT a 6:). I agree with your views in the last 2 movies POJC and ROTK but it does not fly with most of the people who are looking for a 9 or 10. You are very strict in your final assessment in your reviews and I think it is a good quality to have.:)
Regarding Spielberg, Tim is right! You loved Jaws and Open water is no comparison. The idea of both the movies is same but they show terror in different way.
Eddie I was yanking your chain:)

Ah, so S_Coaster should disrespect me, then? :o
By the way, I didn't give "The Passion of the Christ" a 6--I didn't rate it at all since I'm not sure what to make of it at this point in time.

Yes, I'm afraid I have to take the credit for giving "The Passion" a 6/10, not Eddie. So that's one you can't blame on him. And the more I think about that film, the more I dislike it. I must have been softer and more sentimental in my youth.

I Dont disrespect you at all!Actually your reviews and mr.puccio's are the ones i trust the most, i just asked the question. Also, i didnt found the amateur-photography disturbing, in the past i liked movies made that way, like "The blair witch project". But i need to ask what actually made you put an 8 on that movie, what ethical message or lyrical transparency will make you see that movie again and again? Its gets even funnier if you think that its 2 points lesser than "One flew over the cuckoo's nest", one point lesser than "Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" and worse of all, Equal with "Platoon" on this site!. About the spielberg thing, if u are a spielberg fan it means that you love the "early-cg cinema era" and "early pop-corn movies that looked serious", after schindler's list, (his biggest contribution to the cinema world for me) the guy does not create anything different anymore. As for the "passion of the christ" "credit" for film value, i wont even talk about it....
