It's a go!

The rehearsal footage from Michael Jackson's This Is It tour will be released on DVD and possibly in theaters!!!!

According to Hits Daily Double, AEG, Sony Music and Jackson's estate are currently negotiating a deal, which sources believe to be signed and sealed quite soon.

The folks at Sony, including film division head Amy Pascal, describe Jackson's performance as "spectacular," so all signs are pointing to a theatrical release along with the DVD.

Sounds amazing!

I'll buy it. Maybe another DVD to be released in November.

Apparently it was recorded in High Definition with surround sound also so I hope they release it on bluray.

Yeah... that brief 3-minute clip that's been shown sure looks well done, like they were really into that "rehearsal", and so if an entire show can be edited out of the various takes, etc, then we might realize something special from Michael's final week(s) of rehearsal.

Thanks for posting the news, Falcon.

And they can always release past concert footage that's been recorded (but never before seen/released) - same thing with his unreleased studio songs in the vault. I'm sure Sony will be involved in this (his parent record company).

does anybody else find it a bit strange that the week mj died spin magazine had an issue on the shelf celebrating the 25th anniversary of purple rain? anywAy...lets not forget that guys genius. regarding this..yeah I dunno if im all that interested. mj appears to have lost quite a few steps in the footage that I saw and I can't get over how terrible he looks. Id rather have the stuff from the 80's restored on bd with this footage as an extra.
