Can Scott make another Alien worthwhile?

Depends on what direction he goes.

It's funny, considering his first big films were sci-fi related, he's gone the period epic/gritty reality route most of his time since, so it'll be interesting to see him delve into this realm again.

Scott certainly has a talented eye, so I'm sure it will look amazing he just needs a script and cast that will catch that original's ground-breaking feel (if that's even possible anymore). Now, will he go the horror route like he initially did, or take some other tack that we haven't thought of?

Sean (...sat on a tack once. didn't like it...)

Ahh... But the bigger question, Eddie, is...

"Is it live, or is it Memorex"?

Sean (...live, memorex... it's still rock 'n' roll to me...)

their is no way that this can be good. the creature has been ruined and is no longer scary. scott is just searching for a "hit".

Well, not to be overly optimistic, but I think that last statement could have easily reflected most feelings toward another miniscule franchise that got hit in the gut not so long ago. I believe it was after the release of...

Batman and Robin.

My hope is for a rescussitation of the franchise, and a new potential beginning like Nolan was able to give us with Batman Begins. If it's a hit, all the better. I dont' think Ridley is scrambling for cash, so I'm looking forward to something he actually cares about.

Here's hoping that Scott delivers...

Sean (...and if he can't, i've got some digiorno pizzas he can deliver instead...)

of ridley scott's movies, i've really liked only "kingdom of heaven: director's cut". i'm not holding my breath with regards to any more "alien" movies.
