I hear ya there John but what excites me the most is that the words Star Wars and Bluray are finally put positively in the same sentence from someone that has something to do with it...80)

Let's hope the European, specifically Dutch, release won't have to wait another two years or more after the US release. Like so many other blu-ray's (Pan's Labyrinth, The Fifth Element to name two).

The only way Lucas will release The Saga on Blu Ray, is if he can figure out a way to BILK us for more $$$$$$!!!!

If/when these babies get released on bluray they WILL sell so he doesn't need to figure out a way to bilk us for more money. The movies will make money regardless.

As much as the Prequels blew major #$%^&, they should look pretty sweet in HD.

would i like star wars on blu-ray? yeah..... do i need star wars on blu-ray right away? many people would raise their eyebrows at me for this, but seriously, i have been desperately waiting for the original trilogy to come on DVD for eons (let alone getting them in widescreen)! and for those who have embraced DVD so welcomed, who hasn't? right? true, transfers of films have methodically improved (hell, look at blade runner, any edition). i'm in no hurry to get ALL SIX on blu-ray, cause the way i see it, the work shows with what lowry did with those three in that cleanup they did.

on the flipside, the films on BD would allow for multiple versions of the films to be on there (no excuses there). in fact, what i would like to see is where you can "make your own special edition of star wars" where you can pick if only han shoots first, or if it's sebastian shaw or hayden christensen.... even if you would like clive revells voice-over the old lady emperor, or ian mcdiarmid... i mean just to owe to the fans so they can see star wars each fan would like to see it, and not just good ole boy george. it's really not asking much. plus, i would also like some good HD audio there too (especially cleaning up the dialogue between tarkin and leia in the alderaan scene). so going back to the question earlier.... do i need star wars on blu-ray.... nah. not really. would be nice. but i can wait for now.
