Notice how the old photo has a silver color around the disc drive and the new a black? This could indicate to versions. It says on the box of the first revealed photo that it has a 120GB storage. If the black is a smaller (most likely) version or bigger is uncertain.

However, it now seems very likely that a new version is in fact coming.

Will they reduce price or simply trow more HD space and perhaps bundle games instead. We will see.

Hello Henning. Joystiq recently updated this story by mentioning that the pictures in question on amazon's german site were submitted by a user. So there is no way to know if these were official pictures or just someone using photoshop. I have a feeling though that the slim is on the way.

when I first saw the photo in the article I thought bogus...but then when I used the link and saw the amazon photo well now im thinking that the photo in the article may infact be a prototype and the amazon photo is the real deal. lol. anyway it makes sense for sony to stay hush hush so they can get rid of as many current models as possible before the switch. so with this announcement it seems assured that their will be a price cut on the current ps3 this holiday season with that price then being carried over to the new model next year sometime.
