so i got my xbox 360 update today, and the great news is that now one can peruse through the movies available for instant streaming on the 360 itself! so that makes browsing for movies easier!!!

anyone else get a chance to check it out?

I love it. They fixed one of the problems I couldn't stand. If you miss a line and rewind a bit to see the scene again it plays instantly instead of having to find its place again. The Netflix program must be using hard drive space or xbox cache to store some of the flick to make this possible. Little fixes like this are making the movie streaming much more enjoyable. I do like what you said too about being able to browse right on there. It's gotta be better to watch on the xbox than blu ray players because you have all that processing power to play with. If you use both, which works better? Let us know.

Have you watched a show with a party yet(where you and friends at different houses can watch a movie together and chat about it while it's playing)?

Thats a great update. It was annoying adding them on the computer first then scrolling through your list.

BTW has anyone watched Gigantic on Netflix Instant yet? I just added it and it sound pretty good.

i use my blu-ray player for blu-ray, and my 360 for games and netflix.

BTW, watched a lil Ronin the other day and the first gun fight sounded really nice. Also, they have man vs. food on there... IN HD, which was awesome.

i think the games on demand thing is cool, but i still like good ole physical media.

one thing that still annoys me about netflix is that numerous movies (if it's marked w/ starz play, beware) only fill up 16X9, or some are full screen! kinda something they could easily fix IMO

Anyone know how fast your connection needs to be to stream HD?

I think you need 5-6 megabit connection. I have only 3mb and I get about dvd quality from the HD shows.
