If you have any old video games that u want to trade (ps3, ps2, nds, xbox 360, wii... etc), just claim it at amazon online. Trade a total videogame value of $60, and they will add an extra $30 to the pot. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000403631

You get a shipping label printout & your games gets delivered to their warehouse within 7 days. The usual rules are implemented to qualify for the trade:
1- Videogame must be in their trade-in database (which will include the trade in value)
2- Original Case & Manuals MUST BE INCLUDED.
3- Condition of the game is not exactly clear... I shipped one of my PS2 games with so much scratch on it, that it doesn't even give off a reflection - AND STILL GET ACCEPTED on the trade-in value.

Once your trade in is approved, your total credit is automatically indicated in your amazon account. The additional $30 videogame credit arrives after 10 days of approval. Trade-in gift certificate is only good for videogames (or consoles). So you can spill that $90 certificate (plus $209) on that PS3 slim, or get other videogames, including a BRAND NEW XBOX 360 (0r a Wii... or a DS... or a DSi), instead.

When all was said and done I blew about 800 on my 60g Ps3 purchase. Of which included the 500 console ( I would gladly pay that again btw if needed) two games, four bd's and one very expensive Monster Hdmi cable. (of which I am NOT proud of because the 20 Sony cable works just as well...as does the 10 Vizeo cable that I tried once) So yeah..this is a great deal even though the new Ps3 Slim looks "cheap" imo.

why not sell the games for the best prices that you can get? amazon trade-in values suck.

Amazon's trade-in suck? Compared to who, Gamestop? I went there first & rejected 3 of my perfectly good PS2 games, due to 'blemishes' on the disc. I sent the same games to Amazon & gave me credit, no questions ask.

Even if Gamestop accepted my games, their buy-back cost is very similar to Amazon. And since I don't see Gamestop spilling extra $30 to their customers, anytime soon (for every $60 trade-in of games), Amazon's trade-in offer IS A FAR BETTER DEAL.

Besides, I don't care which store or merchant gives better buy-back for my buck. I wanted to get that extra $30 & I got it. Now I get to buy a PS3 with NO TAX & NO SHIPPING.

you can also sell the games on your own. you don't have to trade them for credit anywhere.

I tried that before doing the trade... since the beginning of the year. Craigslist ads up to my ear. Unfortunately, everyone wants to haggle more for the base price that I'm asking. Recession showed more people selling stuff & less buyers paying at a given craigslist price.

As for ebay. That's even worse. Besides, there's not much demand for PS2 games, nowadays.

You might find Glyde.com useful, actually, for buying and selling video games. Says right on the front page "Simply buy and sell your dvds, cds, games, and books".
