That's a big bold move...wonder how the audience's target will affect the movies, if.

When I saw this on Fox news I was kind of shocked. But hey, Disney is beyond rich and will definitely make the bucks back as long as they don't turn Marvel movies into what Fantastic Four 2 became. Disney parks here in FL have upped the ticket prices to $75 while the economy is in the sh***er.

Sony has had their hands on Spiderman movies up to now. Wonder if there will be court battles when Disney wants ownership. Don't know what kind of contracts were going on between Sony and Marvel.

The article notes that present studio contracts will continue until they end or are renegotiated. Meaning that Fox will continue to produce "The Fantastic Four" and Paramount will continue with "Iron-Man," etc., at least for a while.

Quite ironic I just read a interview with Stan Lee, he said he hoped one day Marvel would be the next Disney.

Well I guess Disney couldn't have that.

That's what I was thinking. While merging and purchasing is normal business in today's corporate world, I really hope Disney keeps their brand of family cheese and campy fun off of future Marvel stories.
