We all have kicked around(and kicked each otherLOL) about Blu Ray prices both players and movies yada yada yada. But this week Best Buy has what I think is a great deal on Gladiator and Braveheart. If you purchase both movies together, the will knock off $10.00 It will be like getting both movies for around 40 bucks, which to me is a GREAT deal.

I noticed this deal on the bestbuy web site sunday. It almost convinced me to buy both movies until I read the reviews for how horrible the gladiator blu transfer was. I think its better to just get braveheart and save your $20 for something else.

Dang, I was going to go dig up a review of "Gladiator" on Blu-ray from our site, but . . . we . . . have none. I'd tell you myself but I just don't plan on picking up "Glad-he-ate-her" . . . it just didn't do it for me.

Hell, we don't even have a review of "Braveheart" on Blu-ray, but that didn't stop me from picking up my favorite Scottish movie today! (note: John did do a great review of the DVD version several years ago.http://www.dvdtown.com/review/braveheart/dvd/533)

Hey blade...

Bill Hunt of The Digital Bits is one notable critic of the new Gladiator BD transfer (although he had the highest praise for Braveheart's BD mastering)...

~ READ HERE

Tim... John told me a few days ago that Paramount had been LATE in sending out the BD review copies of both of these films. (just now being received)

That's surprising. I just read Bill Hunts article that Hendrix provided and his review of Gladiators picture quality isn't very positive, in fact he says the PQ is below average.

Considering people have been begging for this movie to be released in high definiton since the days of the format war I'm surprised they would release a below standard version of the movie on bluray. Very disappointing.

Braveheart on the otherhand is getting excellent reviews. Must pick up Braveheart.

hmmm, bill hunt must've been reviewing an older edition. got this edition the other day i watched the movie last night on bluray, and i found it quite glorious.

i've pretty much alienated digital bits given their approaches are a little narrow (kinda why i like THIS site better because it's more approachable)

Just saw a few scenes from Gladiator.

First impressions is that they look good but I haven't seen the entire movie.
