The old "It's Alive" Triple Feature is available on a WB two disk DVD. (Amazon, only $7.99)! I saw the first at a drive in with my wife in 1973, but quite frankly, I never heard of the other two: "It's Alive 2, It Lives Again" (1978) and "It's Alive 3, Island of the Alive." (1987). None of them are really great, but they are fun to watch and there is a consistant story thread throughout the three. Lake all modern remakes, I'm certain the new film will be quite different.

Well, there was one squeal where we get to see what happened to the baby grown up. Seems like the baby grows up to look like some penguin looking creature? I think it was called "Batman Returns"?

It'a Alive 3 actually showed the adult mutant. 'Kinda looked liked a low-budget Gremlin. The new one should be interesting. We'll see how much the new version deviates from the original. The brief plot synopsis offered in the DVDTown announcement is actually a bit different. Personally, I enjoy watching old versions prior to viewing a remake. It would be nice if the new It's Alive was packaged with a restored version of the old film, as was in the The Day the Earth Stood Still.
