^Very bad Sony, bad! (read the article)

I guess it's time for Tim (or Eddie) to provide one of those anti-Sony images again...

Joe,

Sony is just flat out pathetic. This company is the primary developer of Blu-ray, but its own Blu-ray drives, players, and discs are among the ones that frequently crap out.

It's a bad situation for sure. One comment I read said to re-set your system to its default settings, which may clear up the problem (it did for that owner). Still....

One of viewer comments below the Home Media Magazine article said this -
Quote:
No Regulation... 'Sony makes everyone agree in the small print that even if THEY break your console VIA Update, that they are not responsible. I have been clamming about regulation for years. (They can release systems that break),, (defective games),,, ( Fix the rating systems (pay for high reviews))(Break your systems via update),,,(sell broken systems,, 7th XBOX for me),,,,,, etc and there is nothing you can do because they write there own rules..

With stunts like this Sony can't expect people to continue to be loyal to the Playstation brand. They are going to have problems when the PS4 comes out because of things like this PLUS how long has it taken for any decent games to come out? There are a few now yes but it took what, two years?

I would not expect as many people to be excited about the NEXT Playstation console.

This happened with my 40gb about 1 month after it's warranty was up. Sony would not budge and were going to charge me $150 to fix it. I told the woman on the phone that I would sell my PS3 for parts and all of my games and she said "Sorry thats out policy". Sony continues to screw up with the PS3. The PS3 is a useless piece of equipment with all of the excellent inexpensive blu-ray players out there. Blu-ray is all I used the PS3 for anyway.

I try to keep my ps3 disconnected from the internet. Seems like there hasn't been a useful update for more than a year. It plays movies fine and I dont have too many games. I could play online I guess but there really isn't a point since I also have a 360.

I almost wonder if Sony does this crap intentionally to make money off people when the PS3's stop working after one of THEIR updates.

F'ing Sony I tell you. I really dislike them more and more all the time. Remember when they installed software on your computers through certain CD's WITHOUT your knowledge?

Scammers!!

Wow, break out the HATERade! You guys love to sh#t on Sony

My 60gb PS3 blu ray drive crapped out on me within a year of purchase, but I sent it to Sony and they fixed it for no charge. Now this was early 2008 I think and my machine has been fine ever since, and I use it everyday, movies, games, internet...etc

It's sad if Sony has changed their policies with the customer service, but still I don't regret my purchase. The aricle doesn't appear to have any numbers so it's not clear to me if these are just a few fluke machines or it problem is much more widespread.
