October 5, 2009 - A trademark filed in late September by Activision Publishing, Inc. hints at the possibility of a 'Call of Duty' movie is in the works.

The 'Call of Duty' trademark, spotted by Trademork (via Destructoid) is related to "pre-recorded movies featuring comedy, drama, action, adventure, music, theatrical performances and/or animation."

This should come as no surprise given the popularity of the franchise. A movie based off the series is a guaranteed money-maker.

Although i'm not that much into Video game adaptations, this got me a bit excited. Maybe it's because i finished both Modern Warfare and World at War during the past month.

It's also a bit funny, if you consider that both of the COD games mentioned above have direct references to War movies. At one point in Modern Warfare you're basically re-enacting Black Hawk Down and in "World at War" you're pretending to be dead in a fountain while germans search for people still alive and shoot them (Enemy at the Gates).
