Falcon,

I've been wondering the same thing about the Walmart edition in Canada. I can't see myself purchasing the film at this point but if I were to give it serious thought then having the Imax scenes would be a factor in the decision.

From what I've found so far, the Big Screen Edition isn't listed on the Canadian site, just the regular Blu-ray version. The cover art also seems to be an indication as well. I haven't checked it out in store yet.

No, IMAX at the Canadian Walmart I was at today. Or the three other stores I phoned. SO I went to Futureshop for the Steel Book case version.

Tim, would you choose Nicole over Elle? I'd take Elle any day.

So for derailing this thread! I can't find the IMAX version on any of the Canadian sites. At least they don't mention anything about the IMAX scenes. Weird.

There was a similar issue with the "Wizard of Oz" exclusive Target version, which was supposed to be available at Canadian Future Shops. It's unfortunate that this new method of store-specific releases isn't translating well across the border.

I just bought it at Wal Mart for $19.29...not a bad price at all.

I'll take Nicole over Elle any day of the week. Elle is hot to be sure, but it's like comparing a beautiful, classy woman to the latest hottie girl on the block. It's just me but I "shwing" more towards the beautiful, classy woman.

You early buyers are suckers (IMAX version not withstanding).

Remember last Christmas? When Amazon offered the first film for just $10?

So, you could rent ROTF now on Blu-ray (from Redbox, Netflix, Blockbuster, etc), and a few months from now probably get it on sale. Prices are moving down fast.

I've noticed more and more now, how the studios are regularly marking down their BD prices a few months (or less!) after release date... desperate for reaching maximum sales.

Patiently waiting until "The Wizard of Oz" BD set is marked down (to maybe $20, $25?)

"You early buyers are suckers."-hendrix

had to have a laugh at THAT statement joe. please look in mirror...

I am not trying to imply that your comment is wrong. I am just baffled and dumbfounded that you just now figured that out...considering that 100% of us has been paying a premium for this since the BEGINNING. we all know prices are going to fall however we still buy it because the success of the format depends heavily on suckers/early adopters like us.

anyhoo...
anybody got a side by side review between the 2 different versions?
