Best Buy has it for pre-order for only $20.99

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Star+Trek+-+Widescreen+Dubbed+Subtitle+AC3+-+Blu-ray+Disc/9433357.p?id=2014695&skuId=9433357&st=star%20trek

Plus they have a deal where you can get another Star Trek blu-ray for $10 off if you preorder, not bad!

Does anyone think Amazon will match it? It's still $27.99 right now. I'd rather get it at Amazon, but not for $7 more. Does anyone have a better deal for it?

The other Trek BD choices are: Trek II, IV, VI and VIII. They're not offering TOS S2 in the deal. Just FYI.

This is only because Best Buy is having a 30% off sale on most Blu-rays. Amazon is price-matching on a case-by-case basis.

Yeah, there's some remarkably decent titles in the sale. Too bad I've turned over a new leaf and decided to actually be an adult for once. At one time, I would have had no problem in just picking at least 5 discs off the shelf, justified it as "they're on sale" and been done. Would've put it on my CC and then paid it off when I get paid next week.

But nnnnnnooooo...Jason has to mind his pennies now like a grown up because he's looking to the future.

Stupid responsibility...

Seriously, about four weeks ago I decided it was time for me to act 30. Think about buying a house and stuff. Now I'm rethinking and triple thinking every time I take the debit card out. I guess that's good but I don't like living like this! Time to win the lottery!

(I guess it kinda hurts I haven't seen a raise in about 2 years...oh yeah, time to look for a new job too...)

I feel that pain too but havn't learned yet to not blow money on BDs, lol. I havn't seen a raise in three years but am ever so happy just to have a job at this point in time.

It's all a matter of keeping my eyes on the prize. I know exactly what I'm working towards.

Believe me: this past month has been a complete B for me. Between reigning in spending and watching everything I eat, it's a minor miracle I haven't killed anyone yet. (Truly, I haven't had a single piece of chocolate in about 3 weeks now...)

Jason, I'm in the same boat as you. I've been holding off on purchases for the same reasons as you except I'm getting closer to 40 now in age.

All I can tell you is that it does get easier (to not spend money) it just takes time to break the previous habits to buy things freely. On the bright side, when you're NOT putting stuff on the credit card, you're not paying a monthly credit card bill which leads to more money that is available for other things. You should treat yourself every once in a while to a nice dinner or a movie or something otherwise you will be miserable.

Absolutely. That's what I keep telling myself: the $150 I had on the Visa last month could be $150 I put into my online savings account, over and above the $600 that goes in monthly anyway.

We do go out to lunch every Saturday with some friends-Subway, but still-which happens right after our weekly movie (before noon tickets are $5). And I do intend on buying releases I know I want. For instance, this week's Walt Disney Treasures are running about $40 each and it's something the two of us can enjoy together.

I'm slowly breaking myself of this consumer-thing...not to mention selling off pieces of my movie collection. But that's another subject!
