I can't get through a Costco store without stopping in the electronics department until the Wife-O-Meter pulls me out. For those still interested in BD players, they have Sonys for $179, Panasonics for $159, and Sharps for $129. I guess the magic selling point is now $100? Or $99.99? And they all come with an HDMI cable, which right there saves you about $800 if Monster Cable had its way.

Oh, and women in their sixties should not dye their hair purple. Unless they intend to shop at Walmart.

John, try telling that to my mother. In a few years she's going to start looking like the woman from "are You Being Served" and Dame Edna. And she'll shop where she damn well pleases.

Mike, this woman's hair was BRIGHT purple, and she had to be older than I am. At least she didn't have any tattoos (I could see).

Hah! Well my mom's well on her way to her sixties. I think she said that when she hits her seventies she'll start dying her hair bright pink and such. And she also has a tattoo on her neck... well more behind her ear. Chinese symbol for water... I think... not sure why.... She got it to cover up her old tattoo.. a rose.

yeah, $100 is the magic price point, though even wal-mart is shy about getting to that price point on a regular basis. for a while, the second-gen magnavox was $98, but it's back up to $148. the next cheapest player is the vizio for $168. i believe the vizio is profile 2.0, so the maggie isn't such a good deal any more. i'm guessing that wal-mart will drop the maggie's price to sub-$100 soon again for the holiday season.

True. Black Friday should be interesting for you guys in the U.S. We Canadians have to wait til Boxing Day which is Dec 26th.

first..falcon. I share your lust for the oppo. heard it to be the best. they even used it in a comparison test against the 4,000 denon flagship and it did very well.

well..we are definitely at the pricepoint for j6P as far as player prices go. now about that software...cmon wallmart! don't reduce shelfspace! expand it! (master).

haaa..had a laugh. tonight my wallmart lady was about sixty..had bright burnt orange hair (as in fried..not the color) and a cute little "jailhouse" rose tattoo on her lovely flubber arm with the word "everything" written under it. so fellas "rose everything"...w.h.a.t.e.v.e.r..the HELL..that means.

wallmart is starting to feel like the modern day version of the breadlines of yore. I feel like im in that place every effing day getting something with the words "great value" written on it. I suck bad.

I'll tell you what's worse than an old woman with colored hair. A woman in her late 60's maybe closer to 70 with brand new breast implants. Yeah, no joke. I saw one of those at my local Publix Supermarket. She had them puppies all popping out of a tight shirt too, lol.
