Anyone here gonna get one? Why do I have this feeling it will be better than most other players?

Panasonic makes great bluray players and then there's always the Oppo BD 83 which are pretty much the best all-in-ones.

Will Toshibas players be good? I hope so but price point will be a huge factor also, especially since you can get the Panasonic BD60's new for less than $200.

The Panasonic DMP-BD60 is only $139.69 right now at amazon.com

I love Toshiba but when Panasonic who makes good sh__ is selling for that cheap I cannot see why anyone would go anything but a panny. I have yet to have a movie skip or freeze and I've been using this baby(BD60) since they were released at the beginning of the year. Long live Panasonic! I have four HD-DVD players and as much as I love that format I have to say they all have skipped or blacked out many times and they are all made by Toshiba.

I have the BD 35 which is the predecessor to the BD60. I got it used and I have not updated it once, not even when I first got it. Never had a single problem with it, no disc skipping, no problems loading up a movie, nothing, ever.

If you can get the BD60 for $140 than go for it. It has better picture quality than my PS3 also.

the first-gen funais are able to play a lot of complicated software w/o problems and w/o updates. i was able to access the Maximum Movie Mode with "watchmen" and the java-intensive galleries with "fast & furious" and "transformers 2".

meanwhile, sony and samsung blu-ray players continue to eat it...

i think the toshiba players hit markets this week. let us know if you get one...
