Seems odd, to say the least. I've been campaigning to see Atkinson as Inspector Clouseau, but Voldemort? In which upcoming film will this happen? He's not listed in the casts at IMDb yet.

He says he wants to get away from Bean... and I say good for him. He did play a good straight man from time to time in Black Addar.

If true, which I'm not sure of, this could be quite alright. Hell, who thought "Jeff Daniels" would be good teamed up with Jim Carrey? Who thought Deniro could do comedy?

Interesting! I always thought that one of the coolest things about British theater/film is that their best dramatic actors are so often their best comedic actors (i.e., Robbie Coltrane, Stephen Fry, etc.), so hopefully he can pull it off well.

But as I recall in the first Potter movie, there was a CGI Voldemort that was introduced. I know it's totally computer generated, but I assume it was modeled after a real actor. Any news on why they didn't go with this actor? (Aside from marquee appeal, of course.)

IMDB just broke the news today (7 January 2004). It'll be for "Goblet of Fire" (Book4).

Hope for Rowan's sake this turns out better than Jim Carrey's crossover role in The Cable Guy. ;)

I couldn't find the info on Rowan playing Vuldemort on IMDB anywhere. But if that's the case, (as much as I love his comedic genius, and talent) I really hope he can pull off a serious roll, or as Posters mentioned, it could take away from the (pardon the pun) magic of the films.

Never mind--Atkinson's PR reps just denied the rumors. Too bad--it might've worked, lol.

Good. Then I can go back to campaigning for Atkinson to play Inspector Clouseau. Does anybody else see this possibility?

John,

I totally get you on Atkinson playing Clouseau. Between his aptitudes for physical comedy and dialect, he would be great for the inspector! I just want to see him in more projects at all. He cracks me up!

Speaking of Atkinson, has anyone seen Johnny English? Is it any good? :D

To quote "Bean: The Movie":

"Not that I know of." :D

Even my sister didn't see "Johnny English", and she adores Atkinson.

I've seen Mr. Bean the movie, and Johnny English, and I thought Johnny English was head and shoulders above Mr. Bean the movie. I remember walking out of Mr. Bean the movie thinking they had shown all of the funny scenes in the trailers. I will admit that Johnny English didn't look too appetizing from the trailers, however I found it very funny.

I guess Atkinson shot this rumor down, hard.
