Most of it is somewhat lukewarm, and to them I say "Bullocks"

Leave Sandra Bullock out of this. She's suffered so much already.

Actually, I'm hoping her new film about that boy she helps does better than that last POS she did!

And let me say, Chris, I was rooting for your Phillie's. I love going for the underdog and loved it when my beloved "Diamondbacks" beat the crap out of the NY empire. Sorry it didn't happen for you dude, but I was on your side all the way. ;-)

The Blind Side (the Bullock movie) is sarcastically known in our circle as The White Guilt Movie. As such, we're boycotting it.

Hey, the Oscar talk for Sandra is already starting. I'm not kidding either. It's supposed to be her "Erin Brockovich." Apparently that's intended as a compliment.

Well, one thing is for sure, her career is indeed due for redemption. She is one of those actresses I like but she's always in crappy movies.

Good, solid female parts are usually hard to come by so the bar is lowered for Lead/Supporting Actress nominations. Nine times out of ten it's going to be Winslet, Blanchett, Close and Streep in the running. Females on TV are much much better...

Well, wasn't there some major movie studios last year that came out and said they would no longer be making films with women taking the lead role? I briefly remember it, or which studio(s) it was, but it came about since movies, like Jody Foster's "The Brave One" did little box-office and they felt the gamble of leading women films was not having the draw it used to.
