I'll wait for this to come on T.V., but most likely be prepared for a special edition double dip soon, it is after all, a James Cameron film, they always get double dipped (Terminator, Terminator 2 -twice!-, Aliens and now Titannic, but what about that "apparently" rumoured True Lies Sp.Ed?). But I keep buying em', so what can I say?

Josh,

How creature-rich or creature-poor is this film? I've got an eight-year-old wannabe marine biologist who loves the Blue Planet series and National Geographic specials. Are there a lot of deep-sea creatures shown?

James,

The "extended" cut of the film is fairly creature-rich. It does spend a lot of time with Cameron and his crew in the technical aspects of their journey as well. However, It's by and large the better cut of the film.

As I haven't seen the "Blue Planet" series you mentioned, I don't know how to compare it. "Aliens of the Deep" is by far my favorite documentary I've reviewed so far, however. One thing your son probably will enjoy is the numerous deep water animals. Most of which I'd never seen before, and I'm a fan of "TLC", "Discovery", and the "History" channels.
