"You are an errand boy sent by grocery clerks to collect a bill."
Definetly one of my faves of all time, but I think this movie deserves a much better DVD. The original has some promotional stuff and Redux is barebones. A film like this NEEDS a better DVD. I was just wondering, since tis seems like a controversial subject, how many of you prefer the Redux over the original or vice versa, and why?

I don't like either one. I tried the ???Redux??? version a year ago, but it still did nothing for me. To me, it is just a film that rambles on with tiresome dialog that only seems to make sense to a drug addict. Granted, AP is probably considered more of an art film when it comes to the genre of Vietnam War films. There are several art films I enjoy, I just don't enjoy this one, and believe me I've tried. Fact is I'd like to enjoy it as much as everyone else seems to, but I just don't find it impressive or enlightening in any way. I find it a dull and uninspiring, and what ever point the film is trying to make just never connects with me.
Sticking with the genre, I???m more partial to films such as, ???Platoon???, ???Born on the Fourth of July???, and ???Full Metal Jacket???.

I don't like Redux. As Tim pointed out correctly, it is dull and boring. Plus it is too long. Stay away from this uninspiring and boring dud.
