For me, the fundamental lesson this movie teaches is that people, in general, are a whole lot more ineresting at 32 than they are at 23. Of course, that may have something to do with the fact that I'm 32 now.

John,

Funny, but I got the feeling that your parting thoughts were slightly defensive, just in case NRGkool decides to come in here and give you a hard time. lol

Ethan Hawke, hmmm. It wasn't until a few days ago I realized he was the kid from Explorers!

I went to see what the general consensus was on this one and surprisingly enough it's #184 on the IMDB 250.

Although only 3000 votes have been casted so far, leaping into the mix like that doesn't happen often.

Like most of director Linklater's films, this one apparently has developed a small but loyal following.

Last week I watched Before Sunrise and Before Sunset back to back. I liked them quite a bit, because it's a change of pace from the usual romance movies we get. The honest dialogue between the lead characters really got me. It's interesting watching these movies and thinking hey, it's almost like a duality between the actors and their roles. 10 years ago perhaps Hawke and Delpy weren't too different then the hopeful individuals they portrayed, and now they're more world weary, as aging would have it. Still though there is a spark inside that makes them interesting to watch.

The ending for Before Sunset is deliciously ambiguous. It echoes the answer Hawke's character gave to the French reporter in the beginning of the movie.

My boyfriend was half asleep during the movie, but I for one, was intrigued. I felt a part of the conversation -- and could even relate to these characters. Although all that occurs is dialogue I enjoyed the movie.
