I was by no means blown away by this movie, but I agree with the reviewer, it was a lot better than the first AVP. AVP and Freddy Vs Jason only exist because they can. There is no real way to make sense out of what individually makes little sense in the first place. One of my all time favorite movies is Alien. I was never a huge fan of Predator, so when I heard AVP 1 was coming out I was skeptical, and for good reason, the movie was horrible, and it even took away what would have made it passable as entertainment the blood and guts. AVP 2 is sick, it knows its sick, and at least has some fun with it. Which makes this sequel much more entertaining than the first. I believe almost everyone complained that the first film was way too tame. However, the characters suck, you don't care who dies, you end up rooting for the Aliens or Predator instead of the mother and daughter. Its not necessarily a bad thing, but the movie could have enjoyed this aspect more.

I found this movie lying on the ground in the parking lot of Target today! Blu-Ray no less! I'm kinda worried if I should watch it or not. It could be a trap.

I originally thought this film was better than the 1st, but after some thought, I came to think it was just as bad- or perhaps worse- than the 1st. The 1st's storyline was more interesting (which is painful to say), the aspect of the claustrophobia in the temple in Antarctica played much better than the massively stereotypical small-town massacre, especially the teenager bit.

More gore doesn't make it better, it makes it equally as stupid, if not more.
