I thought that this was a winning comedic film that I greatly enjoyed, granted I am a fan of the books, and I do love Bridget. While I agree that this film is not much more than a re-iteration of Bridget Jones 1, I don't fancy that film too much (at least in comparison to the second), and find this second one to be more colourful and fun. It's easily understandable that a non-fan would loathe this film, as it does cater to someone who enjoys Bridget. It has flaws, but is still entertaining.

Just a clarification of the Bridget Jones and Colin Firth interview bonus feature: it's an homage to the book, Bridget Jones, the Edge of Reason, in which Bridget Jones must interview Colin Firth as part of her job as a reporter. Of course, being Bridge: she totally messes up. Great fun and nice to see for fans of the book.

Just for the record, I DID enjoy the first film; much more than that mean guy John Puccio! (lol)

The fact that I did enjoy the first film is what made me not enjoy the second film. I was only stateting that it could have been better but it lacked in delivering something new and fresh, that's all. I mean really, why glorify something that could have been so much more, no?

I'm not saying it should have won best picture, and I feel it earned it's meak box office gross for lack of ingenuity, but I still find it enjoyable, but I completely understand and agree with all of your comments. It is a bit disappointing, but what's done is done, sorta like Alien 3. (Although Cameron will find some way to re-invent the franchise when he directs Alien 5 -details and his attachment are tentative, but he shows interest and admits he's currently working on a screenplay)

Alien 3 - Now there's a movie that still gets me mad just thinking about it! Nevertheless, with Cameron at the helm for Alien 5, it's bound to be worth a look.
