Eddie,
I'm guessing the entire 5-hour feature is split onto two discs (1st half of move on disc 1, second half and extras on disc 2), is this correct? It's not a flipper with half on each side is it?
Sean (...I know we're told to like dolphins, but flippers should die!...)

Yes, the five-hour program is split across two discs and not one dual-sided disc.

I LOVE Das Boot. One of the best war movies ever, up there with Apocalypse Now, Glory and Platoon. I've only seen the Director's Cut, and it's been years. I want Das Boot on DVD, and I don't know whether to buy the Director's Cut or the Uncut. Is the Dirctor's Cut the true Petersen-preferred version, or is the uncut his fave? What does the Uncut add? Am I missing a great deal by losing the commentary? Is the translation in the subtitles accurate? I don't care how long the film is, I'm patient, but I want to know if the uncut is worth my money(it's pretty expensive for only being a 2 disc set) Any reply would be great. THANX!
