I just watched this today. Never thought much about the praise heaped on the film. But I've finally seen the light
Simply perfect. More incredible considering the how the film was made.

With one exception, the production was never out of a soundstage, and the script was being written as the movie went on. Not bad, considering its dialogue is now probably the most quoted of any movie ever made.
How come nobody ever believes me? Poor John, poor John.
And the remarkable thing about "Casablanca" is that the more often you watch it, the better it gets, until finally, like Woody Allen in "Play It Again, Sam," you're reciting the words along with the actors.

John,
Funny thing is, I get the feeling that you remember "Freddy Got Fingered" more than you remember this one.

They are, of course, the opposite ends of the spectrum, "Casablanca" and "Freddy," the best and worst films ever made. One must have standards of comparison in all things. These are mine.

Freddy is probabaly one of the funniest movies i've seen, yes its horrible but it's meant to be horrible. The part where he is licking the broken skater guys bone to heal it is comforting, he is trying to help his friend out. Then his dad yells at him about it which sucks cause he was only trying to help his biuddy.
On a more serious note, Casablanca was and is a very good movie.
