Oh great!
Not content with calling Jennifer Garner man-like, now Eddie poops on Sarah Jessica Parker by telling us she is horse-like!! :.( ;)

Hock,
Let's just agree that Patrick Stewart is a handsome guy and leave it at that, shall we?

Never before have I read a review on this site that I disagree with as much as this one. This film is a solid 8 or 9 with me, but I'm a huge Tim Burton fan. Planet of the Apes sucked, but the rest of his films are classics to me. This movie rocks, and I'm glad to finally see it come to DVD after many delays.

You mention in the review that Howard Shore doesn't explain the reason behind the repeated Swan Lake theme. I may be speaking out of total ignorance here (I haven't seen Ed Wood) but could it be a reference to Lugosi's Dracula? If I'm not mistaken, Swan Lake is played over the opening credits of that film.

That's possible (I haven't seen "Dracula" in a while), but it doesn't change the fact that the Extras don't address the issue.

Last I checked, extras were just that, and a film should stand on its own merits. A saavy film fan would know the Swan Lake and Dracula connection, I would think, and Burton drew that connection as well.
I just saw this film for the first time the day after it came out and absolutely loved it. I had some issues, like Bill Murray who just didn't work for me, and the glossing over Wood's utter lack of talent or style in favor of an underdog feeling.
However Sarah Jessica Parker is horse-like. I can't say that I've ever found her attractive, let alone engaging, and her Gap campaign has led me to loathe her further.

Justin,
I hope you understand that I wasn't criticizing the lack of discussion. Rather, I was reporting an objective fact--the extras don't discuss the "Swan Lake" music used in the movie, regardless of whether or not you recognized the musical connection between "Ed Wood" and "Dracula".

Oh, I dug that completely, I was just making a generalized statement!
