A flawed but irresistable little film with too many drawcards to ignore, like Paul Giamatti, some great "out-there" ideas, a few touching moments and James Newton Howard's fantastic music score.
The HD-DVD version has Dolby TrueHD, which is an improvement over Dolby Digital Plus, which is the best you'll get on the Blu-ray.
Unfortunately, the HD picture is a DISGRACE !! I saw a good film print of LITW, and thank god - because the HD transfer falls WAY short of the mark. It has a soft picture that's only marginally better than the SD version, with crap contrast and colour saturation.
Come on Warner Bros!! Why did you screw up so badly on this film?
