I enjoyed this movie when I saw it in theatres back in early 1979. Richard Benjamin, Dick (LSD from The Producers) Shawn, and Arte Johnson elevate this to broad satire. George Hamilton all but has to react to his co-stars to get laughs. He plays a funnier Dracula than Leslie Nielson did in that awful Mel Brooks movie, DRACULA - DEAD AND LOVING IT.
Unfortunately some deleted scenes that were restored for commerical tv will not be on this DVD. I can't understand why they can't restore movies completely. You would think they would do everything under the sun to market this movie to fans of Love At First Bite, and to those who never heard of it.
The most memerable of these extra scenes not shown during Love At First Bites theatrical presentation include a series of mid-advents during his first sweep through New York City's subway looking for victims to suck blood from. First loses a fight with a feminist, and then he attacks a drunk and winds up hungover the morning after.
I can think of worse movies to buy. This one may be worth a few laughs. I just wish MGM did more with the DVD release. It would've been well worth it if they did.
