Good question Onijay. The Stargate Ultimate edition I have seems to be similar. Hopefully there is more special features than what is listed or maybe some of the ones that are listed will be more in depth.

It is an ultimate edition because they say it is. It's simply a name.

normally if they say ultimate it should have something substantial... I am yet to be impressed. But yes, it doesn't have to be very good even if they say ultimate. I'm just making a general statement of how little special features there appears to be.

It'll be worth it if it's in HD or anamorphic widescreen

It won't be HD, because this isn't HD-DVD and the old version already contains one of the better Anamorphic video transfers on the market.

that is some really good back cover art. And 2 hours of special feautures is rather substantial, plus with the triva track it's almost like 4 hours, so it's almost like 6 hours of enjoyment! I feel a bit better now.

It looks like it might be the SUPERBIT edition of the film.
Isn't that the logo to the right of the Special Features listing?

YES! IT IS! Alright! (Believe it or not, I've never seen the Superbit of this movie, so I'm quite anxious to see it) But won't there be some degredation of quality as a result of the fact track, or is that similar to closed captions (thus making little or no difference in audio and visual). Anyway, I can't wait!

Usually "Fact Tracks" are just a subtitle track, so the quality shouldn't suffer.
Looking at the front cover art again, why does Milla Jovovich look so strange?

James,
Nice review and I couldn't agree with you more. You are right, this could have been a great film; however, it's probably very difficult to go back and erase Chris Tucker out of the picture.

Oh, Chris Tucker... ruining a perfectly good movie. Otherwise, it's great and a lot of fun. Well reviewed, Jim! I'm looking forwrad to add this to my collection after having the previous edition taken from me!

Now, now. I said I enjoyed him for the first 10 minutes of his schtick, because it did fit in well with the funky music, bringing that music from the background to the foreground of the film. It just lingered too long in the foreground, is all. It's still a fun movie.

Although I'm a big fan of this film, I don't think I'll be adding this version as I already own the Superbit one.
Great review, Jim!

Just picked this up today at Best Buy. Not only does the SuperBit logo appear next to the special features listing on the back cover, but www.superbit.com appears in the lower left as well. The SuperBit logo can also be seen on the label of Disc 1. However, as I have not seen the SuperBit edition of this film (or any film, for that matter) it is hard for me to tell that the SuperBits are nothing more but misprints.
Now without further ado, I'm off to enjoy the movie!

The new special edition releases of "The Fifth Element" and of "Leon" are SuperBit releases. SuperBit releases aren't necessarily extras-less. For example, there are those two-disc SuperBit Deluxe packages, and there's "Punch Drunk Love".

This "Ultimate Edition" DVD was packed with a lot of special features, however not as many as I would have liked to have seen. Don't get me wrong, I don't want that to sound like an oxymoron, but it didn't cover a lot of the areas that I would have liked it to. You would have to check it out yourself to really understand it all. What I really dislike is when they assemble anniversary DVD's or belated releases of films on special features DVD's and bring the actors and actresses back to talk about the film. There's not that much of stock footage from filming on set. It's good enough though. I'm satisfied with it all in all.
