Forrest Gump [Special Edition]

This movie would be perfect if it were a little less cloying.

Personally I think the cloy elements are balanced nicely with Forrest's mild-retardation and the tragedy that's experienced in his life, like the loss of his mother, his friend Jenny fleeing from his life and trying to take hers, the loss of his good friend Bubba, and the angst of Lt. Dan. Yes it has some sappy moments, but I think they are well-balanced.
