Gangs of New York [Special Edition]

A lot of Scorsese fans want to see the oft-rumored three-hour cut. Me? I want to see a cut that is significantly shorter than the one released in theatres. This film has a very very very soft middle, and all the scenes featuring a mis-cast Cameron Diaz could have been shortened or eliminated altogether. There is a great movie in there somewhere, but all that fat drowns the greatness.

I, too, felt that Diaz did not really belong in the movie. She was being dragged through the scenes with no real goal or reason, it seemed.
