I guess I'm still the only one who likes this movie. Not a masterpiece, but definitely a 7 out of 10 as indicated in my comments on the SD release.

I certainly didn't think Hulk was a "brainless beast" as he seems to be thinking throughout the film (protecting Betty from the Gamma animals, his introspection in the desert, his general want for preservation of human life). Never does he directly cause the death of anyone in this film, but actually works to protect others as witnessed by his drop onto the fighter as it veers toward crashing into the Golden Gate Bridge. He heroically causes the plane's flightpath to change, saving hundreds of lives.

And Bana does say the old "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry" line. Granted, it's at the end of the film, but it's certainly there.

For me, as I've previously said, this is an introspective comic book film. The rather existential ending is very foreign to a Hollywood audience, and I feel that the film's overlength is a definite problem, but this one ages well for me. I enjoy it more the more I see it. It's nuance it's audacity to bring intelligence to the genre.

If you're looking for action, this isn't your movie. It's certainly not "Hulk Smash," which to me is more brainless, but rather an exploration into the depths of one man's psyche and it's physical manifestation after a tragic accident.

Just my two cents...

Correction: I actually gave this an 8 on the SD release. I think I can personally stand by that.

Alright, so I watched this on HD-DVD, and I have to admit that on a bigger screen in Hi-Def, ole Hulky looks worse than he did on SD. Still like the movie, but Hulk definitely looks less real as the lines of resolution rise in number.

sean (...at 10,800 lines i'm guessin' he looks like a green Pac-Man...)
