I, Robot [Special Edition]

How come Fox is not releasing this hit on a special edition DVD? Or did I miss something? Please tell me if there is gonna be (like you know, 4 months down the line...)

i can guarantee this will be double dipped.

i now think if a non-comedy movie is released on one disc, a special edition is in the works.

Agreed, theatrical poster art would have sufficed. Looks like it's fallen into the 'troy' syndrome.

This movie should've been called "I, Idiot".

Sometimes our automated downloads of disc details are inaccurate. The widescreen transfer is anamorphic, and one of the best I've seen.

Fox Home Entertainment has officially announced I, Robot which stars Will Smith. This recent sci-fi film will be available to own in single and double-disc editions from the 3rd December this year. Retail for the single-disc will be around ??17.99, whereas the two-disc special edition will set you back around ??24.99. Both will feature a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen presentation along with both English Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround tracks. Extras on the single disc release will include an audio commentary by Director Alex Proyas and Screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, a second commentary by Production Designer Patrick Tatopoulis, Editor Richard Learoyd and the visual effects crew and a third commentary by I, Robot composer Marco Beltrami. Rounding things off will be a making of featurette, a gag reel, a stills gallery and trailers. The two-disc edition will include all of that along with a Post Production featurette, a Sentient Machines: Robotic Behaviour featurette, a About Science Fiction & Robots feature and another featurette entitled The Filmmakers??? Toolbox & Visual Effects. Completing the package will be extended and deleted scenes and a few eastereggs.

I must say that I was surprised in this film. I had fairly low expectations and this movie was 10x better than I thought it would. I thought that I, Robot was better than any other Will Smith action film. This one had more story than I expected and it had enough action to please action fans.

This was a great weekend for me catching this and Collateral as two great surprises.

The secret to double-dips is to never double-dip unless it is absolutely necessary.

A fun movie, one I would consider adding to my collection if the price were around 6 dollars. Some nice nuances and enough of a mystery to keep me paying attention, I enjoyed the flick. A recommended rental.

If I bought this DVD, it would end up like "Minority Report," where I've watched it just once since buying it. I liked the acting, story, and mystery, but the fact is I won't watch it routinely.

I'd watch it daily. LOL
